Our children grow up quickly making those childhood years so precious - passing before you realise it. No doubt you’ll have many photographs, but an adorable pencil portrait of your child would be quite different - something your family can cherish with fond memories - and as a surprise gift can be particularly moving.
» How much will a pencil portrait cost?
An individual portrait will cost only £99, a portrait of two people £145 (includes packing and UK postage). Please send your cheque made payable to Mark Cain at the time of your order. I offer a satisfaction guarantee, so payment in advance will secure your order without any risk to you!
» What size will the pencil portrait be?
The portrait itself is approximately A4 and will be mounted within a white bevelled edge card 280mm x 350mm (approximately 11 x 13 ¾ inches), ready for you to frame - or alternatively why not ask me to frame it for you?
» Will the pencil portrait be framed?
Some people may prefer to choose and buy their own style of frame, but if you wish I can frame your pencil portrait in a high quality polished aluminium frame 290mm x 360mm (approximately 11 ½ x 14 inches), or similar size wooden frame, complete with a white bevelled edge card mount - ready for you to gift wrap or hang! The framing cost is only £33 which includes the additional packing and UK postage costs.
» How long will the portrait take and how will I receive it?
About 2 weeks from receipt of your photo. Your pencil portrait will be carefully packed and sent by recorded delivery, so make sure you advise me of your name, telephone number and postal address - and the persons name if you wish me to write it underneath the portrait (I'll also sign the portrait).
» What do I need to send you?
Please email your photo to
mark@markcain.co.uk making sure it’s a good size, quality close-up image with clear features - especially the eyes. If you need to post the photo the address is shown below. Don’t worry, I will take great care of your photo and return it undamaged with your pencil portrait. Please send your cheque made payable to Mark Cain at the time of your order. Don't forget I will also need your home address and telephone number!
» What if I don’t like my pencil portrait?
I love my work and take great pride in each and every commission, so I’m sure you’ll be delighted with the portrait and agree it’s a fabulous likeness. However I offer a no risk satisfaction guarantee, so in the unlikely event you are disappointed simply return the portrait for a full refund.
» Will my pencil portrait feature on your website?
I will always check with you first to ensure you’re happy for me to show your pencil portrait as an example on my website - but yes with your permission I would love to feature it (hopefully together with your testimonial).
» Are your portrait drawings always in pencil?
Yes. I love pencil. I’ll use a blend of pencil weights to capture the characteristics of the person and the volume of detail will be similar to the examples on this website - but remember, the better your original photo, the better the finished pencil portrait!
